From the box to the payout.

The timer

Eyes at the box. A flag that stops the clock.

Every unit runs on its own battery and talks straight to the console. Set up in minutes, with no cords across the arena and no router to fight with.

  • Box unit

The steer eye starts the clock the instant the steer crosses, and the barrier eyes watch the header and heeler boxes.

  • Barrier

Barrier calls are made for you. A horse that leans into the rope and backs off isn't charged; one that breaks it is, with +10 shown on the console.

  • Flag

Add-on A handheld flag with a motion sensor. Drop it and the clock stops at the start of the swing, so the flagger's arm never adds time. A button works as a backup.

  • Console

A 7" touchscreen with the big clock, the team up and on deck, barrier calls, battery levels, and buttons for NO TIME, RESTART, +5 LEG and +10 BARRIER.

  • Base station

Rather use your own screen? The base station plugs into the laptop and puts the console on any HDMI monitor or touch screen.

The ScoreLine console during a run: 7.42 on the clock, the team up, the team on deck, header barrier clean and a big STOP button.
The console mid-run: clock, barrier calls, the team on deck and the last runs.

The software

The office side, done before the dust settles.

ScoreLine runs the roping on your laptop: entries, draws, times, handicaps, results and the money. Times come in from the console on their own, so nobody retypes anything.

ScoreLine results for a #11 jackpot: average standings with round times, handicap per head, totals, and what each place and each man is paid.
Results for a #11 jackpot: handicaps, barrier penalties, ties and per-man checks worked out for you.

Every format

Numbered ropings with rating caps and handicaps, round robins, short rounds, incentives and barrel races from 1D to 5D.

Fair draws

Draws each round's run order and keeps a roper on two teams from running back to back where it can.

Payouts to the penny

Holdouts, added money, places paid and split ties. Copy the check list straight into Excel.

Crowd scoreboard

Plug in a TV or projector for the live clock, the team up, on deck, the leaders and the last runs.

Season standings

Run as many seasons or series as you like. Points and money won add up as each roping locks.

Text the ropers

Optional texts tell ropers when they're coming up, using your own Twilio account.

Payments and cash

Track who's paid, run the cash sheet and print checks at the end of the day.

Several ropings a day

Run the #11, the #9 and the open from one screen. Each keeps its own entries, draw and money.

Your data stays yours

Everything is saved on your computer, with an automatic backup after every change and a daily copy.

Roping day

Five steps, start to checks.

  1. Format

Pick the roping, the entry fee, the rounds and how the money pays.

  2. Enter teams

Saved ropers and ratings fill in as you type. Mark who's paid.

  3. Run order

Draw the round and print it, or show it on the scoreboard.

  4. Rounds

The timer sends each run in. Fix a time or add a penalty from the console.

  5. Results

Lock the round. Places, payouts and standings are done.

Do I need internet at the arena?

No. The timer units talk to the console by their own radio, and the software runs on your laptop. Internet is only used if you turn on texting ropers.

Can I use the software without the timer?

Yes. Type times in by hand and you still get draws, results, payouts and standings. Add the timer later and the times come in on their own.

What happens to my ropings when I update?

Updates install over the top and keep every roping, roper, season and setting. ScoreLine also keeps backups in your Documents folder.

What does the $135 a year cover?

A year of the full ScoreLine software and its updates. The Timer + Software package includes your first year; after that it renews at $135 a year.

Can I move it to a new computer?

Yes. Copy your ScoreLine data folder across, install ScoreLine and move your license over.

Will two timers at the same arena get mixed up?

No. Every kit has its own ID, so two ScoreLine kits side by side never hear each other.
